The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter is designed to offer greater security, performance and utility. A number of design features are based on dynamic components from Bell 206L4, which began operations in 1992. Its main construction is aluminum and not carbon fiber to reduce costs.

The helicopter has a sleek design and advanced data-bus technology that reduces the amount of wire and overall weight while simplifying maintenance. It also features a high inertia rotor system with excellent autorotation capabilities. It offers superior performance in terms of speed, range and transient load meeting the IATA 4 International Air Transport Association (IATA) noise standards.
