Bell 525 Relentless Specs, Interior, and Price

Bell 525 Relentless Specs, Interior, and Price – The Bell 525 Relentless is a medium lifting helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter Textron. This helicopter is the result of Bell's Project-X and Magellan development program. It is designed to support multiple mission configurations, including offshore, law enforcement, search-and-rescue and VIP transportation.

Bell 525 Relentless was first introduced at the Heli Expo 2012 in Dallas, Texas, USA, in February 2012. In July 2012, Bell selected seven major suppliers for helicopter development, including GKN Aerospace (main metal and composite structure for helicopter bodies), Triumph Group (machinery and composite bodies), Goodrich (ice protection system), Kuka (major structural tools), Israel Aerospace Industries (seating), Mecaer (wheeled landing gear), Pacifica Engineering (rotors and propulsion tools).

The Sensing Meggitt system is contracted to supply gearbox oil levels and chip detection monitoring systems for the Bell 525 Relentless helicopter. Ameron Mass Systems supplies the cargo fire suppression system and engine room for helicopters. Aurora is responsible for the design and fabrication of composite airframe parts.

A helicopter is being built in Amarillo in Texas, USA. The helicopter's first flight was successfully carried out in July 2015.

Bell 525 Relentless Specs

The Bell 525 Relentless combines a new advanced aerodynamic design to deliver higher speed, range and handling performance. It was built using metal composites and all-composite features, the main five-blade rotor system and four-blade tail rotor.

The diameter of the main rotor is 16.61 m, and the gross weight of the helicopter is 9,072 kg. This helicopter has a new LATD tail boom technology developed by Bell to provide better hover performance. The tail of the boom provides an additional 88hp to the main rotor compared to the conventional tail boom. The helicopter is also equipped with an airfoil designed blade, blades that are resistant to birds and anti-ice capabilities.

The helicopter cockpit is equipped with a J-track, rotating outward and push-back type pilot seat, which provides an easy way out. It also offers exceptional comfort levels for pilots.

Bell 525 Relentless Engine

Bell 525 Relentless is equipped with two General Electric CT7-2F1 engines, each of which is worth 1,800 hp. The CT7 family engine is designed to provide higher fuel efficiency, reduce maintenance costs and fulfill high load missions.

This engine features advanced materials such as full authority digital engine control (FADEC), inlet particle separator (IPS) and an independent oil cooling system.

The helicopter's maximum cruising speed is 287 km / hr. The service ceiling is 6.096m. The maximum range of the helicopter is 500mi (926km).

The Bell 525 Relentless has a 4.5-foot cabin, which can be accessed via a pair of large rear sliding doors located between the cockpit and the first row of four seating areas. This cabin will be able to carry up to 16 passengers and two crew members. The cabin also features a large rear luggage compartment.

Bell 525 Relentless Cockpit and Avionics

Bell 525 Relentless has a Horizon awareness, react and control (ARC) flight deck that provides a high level of situational awareness. It has a new G5000H avionics suite developed by Garmin.

The avionics suite features touch screen-controlled glass panels that are integrated with four high resolution multifunction screens and Telligence voice command capabilities.

This system supports a variety of screen and touch screen controller configurations, allowing pilots to view flight displays, graphs and checklists simultaneously.

BAE Systems supplies fly-by-wire flight control computers for helicopters under a contract awarded in February 2012. The flight control system was developed at the BAE Systems Endicott facility in New York with production in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Bell 525 Relentless Price and Orders

The price of the latest Bell 525 Relentless is US $ 15 Million. Milestone Aviation booked in June 2015 for 20 Bell 525 Relentless Helicopters. Anticipated shipments begin at the end of 2017.
