Curti Zefhir Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price

Curti Zefhir Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – Curti Zefhir is the world's first lightweight turbine helicopter mounted with an innovative ballistic parachute rescue system. This helicopter was developed by Curti Aerospace, a division of Curti Costruzioni Meccaniche. Zefhir was launched at the AERO Friedrichshafen exhibition held in May 2018. The helicopter was also exhibited at the Frecce Tricolori air show held in Punta Marina Terme in July 2018.

Zefhir helicopters have undergone various tests, including fatigue tests of critical components of the helicopter to avoid failures during operation. Seat damper compression test is also carried out to ensure safety. This helicopter has fulfilled the requirements of the EASA CS-27.

Curti Zefhir Specs

Zefhir's fuselage is built with carbon fiber material and parts made of aeronautical alloys, making it lightweight, efficient and durable. Carbon fuselage offers high durability and weighs only 72 kg. Overall, the Zefhir helicopter is 8.7 m long, 1.6 m wide, and 2.5 m high.

Zefhir helicopter propulsion system in the form of the main rotor and tail rotor with two blades. The main rotor has a diameter of 7.6 m and can rotate at a speed of 528 rpm, while the tail rotor has a diameter of 1.20 m. This offers a better flying experience because the main rotor blades and tail rotor blades ensure lower noise levels.

The Zefhir helicopter's main rotor head is equipped with a Crashworthy seat and an innovative ballistic parachute rescue system, thus increasing helicopter safety. The parachute has a minimum spread height of 150 m.

The Zefhir fuel tank has a standard 12 liter capacity. Helicopters can be equipped with additional fuel tanks based on customer requirements. The types of fuel approved for helicopters are TS-1, T2 and RT, according to GOST 10227, and JET A, JET A-1, JET B according to DERD 2494.

Curti Zefhir Engine and Performance

The Zefhir helicopter is powered by a PBS TS100 turboshaft engine equipped with a brushless DC electric starter generator and a digital engine control unit (ECU). This engine is capable of producing a maximum output power of 105 kW. It has an output shaft speed of 2.158 rpm and can be started in extreme climates with temperatures below -30° C without preheating.

Zefhir helicopters can fly with a maximum speed of 185 km / hour and a maximum cruise speed of 161 km/ hour. The helicopter has a ceiling hover out of ground (HOGE) of 4,000 m and can reach a maximum distance of 318 km. Zefhir helicopters can stay in the air for 2 hours and 15 minutes at 75 km/ hour.
