Airbus H145M Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – The H145M is a twin-engine battlefield support helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. This is primarily intended for use by the military and law enforcement agencies. H145M helicopters can be deployed in transportation, special operations, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR), search-and-rescue, fire support, and medical evacuation missions.

The first flight of H145M was completed in November 2014 and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification was received in May 2015. H145M made its first flight with HForce's weapons management system in September 2017.

Airbus H145M Specs

The main features of the H145M helicopter are a variety of optional mission equipment packages available that can be quickly installed and removed, based on mission requirements. Within minutes, the aircraft can be reconfigured from transporting troops with seats to search and rescue missions with rescue hoists and stretchers, or to helicopters armed with weapons and ballistic protection.

The H145M helicopter features advanced main and tail rotor gearboxes, and Fenestron veiled tail rotor for better anti-torque control. The tail rotor is equipped with composite asymmetric blades which reduce noise levels.

The helicopter has a maximum takeoff weight of 3.7t and can carry a useful load of 1,769kg, while the sling capacity is 1,500kg. Measuring 13.6m in length when the rotor is operating and has a width of 2.7m when the blade is folded. The helicopter's main rotor height and diameter are 4m and 11m, respectively.

The H145M's power, range, durability and payload capabilities provide a variety of possible uses, especially when operating in sand and dust and in hot and high conditions at an altitude of 6,000 feet and temperatures of 95 ° F / 35 ° C.

Airbus H145M Engine

The H145M helicopter is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines equipped with dual-channel dual-authority digital engine controls (FADEC). Each machine develops a maximum continuous power of 771shp (575kW).

The H145M has a fast cruising speed of 244km / h, a maximum speed of 250 km / h and a maximum range of 662km. Its exceptional hover performance allows for operation at an altitude of 2,700 m (8,858 feet).

Airbus H145M Cockpit and Avionics

The H145M helicopter is equipped with a modern digital glass cockpit that integrates the Helionix avionics suite. This cockpit is compatible with night-vision goggles (NVG). It has a head-up display (HUD) and a helmet display (HMSD) with the ability to pilot day and night and shoot. The four axis cockpit digital autopilot reduces crew fatigue.

Avionics features in H145M military helicopters are mission computers, infrared / TV electro-optical systems, emergency locator transmitters (ELT) and distance range / laser pointer. Enhancements include an enhanced transmission system and the incorporation of Airbus's typical Fenestron hidden rotor for enhanced anti-torque control.

Airbus H145M Weapons System

The H145M helicopter can be equipped with an additional modular weapons system to involve conventional and asymmetrical threats on the battlefield.

It is compatible with seven-tube and 12-tube rocket launchers, 20mm pod cannons, 12.7mm machine gun pods, and air-to-surface missiles. It can also be configured to carry laser-guided rockets, and is equipped with an HForce weapons management system for light attack missions.

This helicopter integrates a self-sealed fuel tank, ballistic protection, infrared (IR) suppressor, and a seat that can be hit. Low profile, crashworthy flight systems and excessive flight systems enhance the helicopter's durability.

Electronic warfare systems such as radar warning receivers, laser warning receivers, missile approach warning systems and husk / flare launchers further enhance durability in high threat scenarios.
